In my  island home on Fanø, Dutch tiles hung on the walls, not just a single tile, but entire tiled walls. In most old Fanø houses you will find these fantastic tiled walls with different tile motifs, sometimes neatly put together in fantastic tile pictures, or other times just randomly set up with the tiles you had on hand.
I have always been deeply interested in these hand-painted tiles, and I myself have quite a nice collection of especially biblical tiles.
When I made my first book in 2013, "Fanøstrik - colours of Fanø", I designed my first tile shawl - there have been many more tile desings since then, and this TILE FLOWER kerchief is the latest in the collection.  The motif is taken from the very common tile flower, which hung in many Fanø homes. It was one of the less expensive tiles, but nevertheless it was quite impressive to see an entire wall with this fine motif. My new TILE FLOWER kerchief is inspired by such a wall.
Most tiles were blue, but there were also red tiles and the hand-painted tiles with other motifs could have even more colors.
