MASAI SHAWL SUMMER
This lovely flower shawl got its curious name after the dark and gorgeous model who was the first to be photographed wearing the original sand-coloured shawl - and who looked exactly like a proud Masai woman. It has been resurrected in a new and fresh summer version where pink and red and lime flower stems play a warm symphony of colors, perfect for a white summer dress on a chilly summer evening.
MASAI SHAWL SUMMER - pink/red/lime
All shawls with pattern knitting are worked on cirkular needle, then cut up and sewn. Following each pattern, there is a clear description for how the model is cut, sewn and finished. When knitting with 2 colours, you "weave" the colour you are not using in every 2, 3, or 4 sts for in this way to avoid long strands on the back of the model.
This tecchnique is called Fair Isle and is used when working in the round or (on rightside rows) when working back and forth.
The shawl is knitted in lambswool on size 3.5 circular needles in 40 cm, 60 cm, 80 cm and 120 cm. The longest circular needle is especially good to have when you knit the wide piece plus the two diagonal borders that are knitted all in one and in the round. The needles are available in the webshop.
