In 2023, I was fortunate enough to get a spot at a truly exceptional knitting retreat with the local designer, Marie Bruhat, who lives on the small island of Fair Isle, located south of Shetland.

The experience was amazing in every way—the journey there, the small island and its 48 residents, the teaching and inspiration from Marie Bruhat, and not least being on this little island where Fair Isle patterns and techniques originate.

I have been invited back to Fair Isle by Marie, but this time as a teacher, and I am really looking forward to it.
