The Mongolian Shawl is inspired by a small piece of textile bought on a local Chinese market many years ago.
This shawl is made in a colour and pattern mix that flows from one to the other framed within a distinctive striped border.

The Mongilian shawls are knitted by hand by the most skilled knitters in Sri Lanka and it takes about 3 - 4 weeks to complete this masterpiece.
I have had the pleasure of working with these women since 2012 and each year 60 knitters knit for me full time 3 months a year.
