The iron barque, Havila was a very beautiful sailingship built in iron. In April 1917, on a journey from Buenos Aires to Svendborg, it was sunk in the Atlantic Ocean by a German U-boat. Onboard were many sailors from Fanø. Luckily, the crew managed to save everyone by using the lifeboats. I have designed a cape that keeps the young women’s shoulders warm while she bustles about making ready for the feast in the little home on Fanø.
